What's our mission?
Our mission is to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics among
all children including girls, minorities and immigrants.
The Chelsea Hall of Science is a 650 square foot facility containing 25 hands-on
interactive exhibits, traveling exhibits, film, and temporary exhibits. The Hall's collections
in science and technology and history, the Hall features changing exhibitions, unique
hands-on experiences, and community programs for visitors of all ages. You'll find
artifacts, intriguing instruments, electrifying demonstrations and historic photographs.
Our exhibitions and public programs provide visitors with a window into the fascinating
world of innovation, invention science and technology. The Chelsea Hall of Science is a
result of a partnership between the Lewis Latimer Society and the Chelsea Public
Library.

The Chelsea Hall of Science recognizes that a sophisticated understand of science
represents a survival skill for Americans in a technologically competitive world, the Hall
of Science has instituted educational programs and special events to inspire students
to pursue careers in science, teaching, and research.
Visiting Chelsea Hall of Science
Visiting hours are during the hours of operation of the Chelsea Public Library, and are
by appointment only. To book your group or organization tour or special event please

are coordinated by the Lewis H. Latimer Society.
